Gen. 1:9-13, The Third Day of Creation, Part 1 of 2

And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be collected into one place standing, and let the dry land appear. And it was so. God called the dry land Earth, and the accumulated waters He called Seas. And God saw that this was good (fitting, admirable) and He approved it. And God said, Let the earth put forth tender vegetation: plants yielding seed and fruit trees yielding fruit whose seed is in itself, each according to its kind, upon the earth. And it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed according to their own kinds and trees bearing fruit in which was their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good (suitable, admirable) and He approved it. And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

What was created on the Third Day?

• The Collection of Water and the Appearance of Dry Land
• The Creation of Vegetation: Plant-yielding Seeds and Fruit Trees yielding Fruit

Historical Significance

• First Point: God called the dry land that appeared “Earth”
• Second Point: God called the collected water “Seas

Spiritual Principle

• The dry land, hence the “Earth”, was only revealed when God called forth the collection of the water. In the beginning, could it be that when God created things out of the unseen (i.e., light, water, land), He was really calling forth the attributes which already existed within himself? YES, (Col 1:16 For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him and in and for Him. )

• There is a correlation between the earth and all living things brought forth from the earth. Throughout scripture we find the word “earth” to mean both the dry land and the inhabitants of the land.

Let’s look at Scripture:

Psa 95:5 The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land

Eze 19:13 And now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land.

Gen 6:7 So the Lord said, I will destroy, blot out, and wipe away mankind, whom I have created from the face of the ground--not only man, but the beasts and the creeping things and the birds of the air--for it grieves Me and makes Me regretful that I have made them
Gen 6:11 And the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

Gen 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language and of one speech.

1Ki 10:24 And all the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom which God had put in his mind.

1Ch 16:23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth; show forth from day to day His salvation.

Psa 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait and hope and look for the Lord the end shall inherit the earth

Psa 66:4 All the earth shall worship thee, And shall sing unto thee; They shall sing to thy name.

Mat 5:13 You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men

Luk 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

1Co 15:47 The first man was from out of earth, made of dust (earthly-minded); the second Man is the Lord from out of heaven.

2Pe 3:7 But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been stored up (reserved) for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly people.

2Pe 3:13 But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more

Prophetic Insight

• All inhabitants of the earth was brought forth from the earth.
• All earthly vessels shall be made new. (See 1 Cor 15:42-44)
• God’s wrath, or destruction will not harm those who possess the seal of God on their foreheads. (See Rev. 9:4)
• God is the Alpha and Omega, The Beginning and The End. The Word of God begins with Him and ends with Him, Creation comes full circle-it began incorruptible and those who posses the seal of God end incorruptible. BUT WAIT—THE END IS THE NEW BEGINNING OF ETERNITY

YOUR ETERNITY DEPENDS ON WHOSE SEAL YOU POSSESS—Will it be the Seal of God or the Seal of the Beast? You have the power to control your eternal destiny!!

Thought for Today

Pressing through Our Struggles & Hardships

Throughout my study of creation, and especially on the seed and the harvest, God has revealed marvelous truth about His plan for us and all creation. Pressing through hardships, trials, tests, and tribulation is something necessary for all believers to go through. You see during the harvests, the grain must be threshed (stumped, beat out, tear, rip apart) in order to reveal the naked kernal. The outer covering of the naked kernal must be removed in order to be used for food or for sowing.

All this to say that when Jesus said to Simon Peter that Satan was seeking to sift him as wheat in Luke 22:31-32, Jesus did not say to Simon Peter to pray to be delivered, NO, Jesus said "I have prayed especially for you that your faith would not fail, and when you yourself have been turned again, strengthen and establish your brethren". The common message throughout scripture is to "Take Courage", "Stand", "Endure", "Trust and Obey". Amen..

Here is the "nugget", when we see our brothers and sisters going through tough times, we must do as Jesus did and pray that their faith would not fail, and encourage them that when they have been turned again, to strengthen and establish your other brothers and sisters.

Gen. 1:9-13, The Third Day of Creation, Study of Wheat

The Study of Wheat

• The Creation of Vegetation: Plant-
yielding Seeds and Fruit Trees yielding Fruit

Historical Significance

There are several plants used in the bible to illustrate truth and prophecy.

Deu 8:8 A land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey;

“Wheat” will be the first plant that we will study.
• The Wheat Harvest (a Jewish Festival) took place around the month of May, the Second month of the Jewish Calendar, “Iyyar/Ziv”. This is also the time summer begins.
• The word “Wheat” means “chittah” in Hebrew, literally means wheat grain or plant.
• Referred to in scripture as “The Feast of Weeks”, or “The Feast of Harvest”, or “Pentecost” This is a time when all the firstfruits (the first harvest) is presented to the Lord as an offering for the rest of the harvest.
• Wheat is “threshed” or “beat out, break, tear, or trample” to separate the outer shell from the wheat
• Wheat is “winnowed” (as scattering) after it is threshed. This process is to separate the “Chaff” (the outer shell) from the wheat.
• Wheat is “sifted” (shaken or sieved), on occasion, by Satan, only upon the approval of God
• Wheat used for “meat or meal” offering (this offering means “Minchah” in Hebrew which means to bestow, a donation, a tribute, a sacrificial offering-usually bloodless, a gift)
• Wheat is one of the items used by the priests considered a “pleasing” daily sacrifice offered up to God.
• Wheat grow with “Thistles”, means “Chaoch” in Hebrew which means to pierce, a thorn, a bramble.
• A naked seed of wheat must first die and fall to the ground in order to produce fruit (multiplication, life) and live eternally, God gives the naked seed body (1 Cor 15:36-38)

Let’s look at scripture:

Exo 34:22 You shall observe the Feast of Weeks, the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the year's end.

Num 18:12 All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of them which they shall offer unto the LORD, them have I giventhee.

Jdg 6:11 And the angel of Jehovah came, and sat under the oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

1Ch 21:20 Now Ornan was threshing wheat, and he turned back and saw the angel; and his four sons hid themselves.

1Ch 21:23 Ornan said to David, Take it; and let my lord the king do what is good in his eyes. I give you the oxen also for burnt offerings and the threshing sledges for wood and the wheat for the meal offering. I give it all.

Ezr 6:9 And all they need, including young bulls, rams, and lambs for the burnt offerings to the God of heaven, and wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the word of the priests at Jerusalem, let it be given them each day without fail,
(10) That they may offer pleasing sacrifices to the God of heaven and pray for the life of the king and his sons.

Job 31:40 Let thistles grow instead of wheat, And cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.

Mat 3:12 His winnowing fan (shovel, fork) is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear out and clean His threshing floor and gather and store His wheat in His barn, but the chaff He will burn up with fire that cannot be put out.

Mat 13:25 But while he was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed also darnel (weeds resembling wheat) among the wheat, and went on his way.
(26) So when the plants sprouted and formed grain, the darnel (weeds) appeared also.
(27) And the servants of the owner came to him and said, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? Then how does it have darnel shoots in it?
(28) He replied to them, An enemy has done this. The servants said to him, Then do you want us to go and weed them out?
(29) But he said, No, lest in gathering the wild wheat (weeds resembling wheat), you root up the true wheat along with it.
(30) Let them grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will say to the reapers, Gather the darnel first and bind it in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my granary.
(35) This was in fulfillment of what was spoken by the prophet: I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things that have been hidden since the foundation of the world. 78:2.
(36) Then He left the throngs and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him saying, Explain to us the parable of the darnel in the field.
(37) He answered, He Who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.
(38) The field is the world, and the good seed means the children of the kingdom; the darnel is the children of the evil one,
(39) And the enemy who sowed it is the devil. The harvest is the close and consummation of the age, and the reapers are angels.
(40) Just as the darnel (weeds resembling wheat) is gathered and burned with fire, so it will be at the close of the age.
(41) The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all causes of offense by whom others are drawn into error or sin and all who do iniquity and act wickedly,
(42) And will cast them into the furnace of fire; there will be weeping and wailing and grinding of teeth.
(43) Then will the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with God) shine forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Let him who has ears hear be listening, and let him consider and perceive and understand by hearing. 12:3.

Luk 22:31 Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat:
(32) but I made supplication for thee, that thy faith fail not; and do thou, when once thou hast turned again, establish thy brethren.

Joh 12:24 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains one grain; it never becomes more but lives by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.
(25) Anyone who loves his life loses it, but anyone who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal.

1Co 15:36 You foolish man! Every time you plant seed, you sow something that does not come to life springing up, and growing unless it dies first.
(37) Nor is the seed you sow then the body which it is going to have later, but it is a naked kernel, perhaps of wheat or some of the rest of the grains.
(38) But God gives to it the body that He plans and sees fit, and to each kind of seed a body of its own.

Prophetic Insight

• When God is done separating the “Wheat”, the Good Seed, from the “Chaff”, the outer shell, he completely removes the “Threshing Floor” There will be no more beating, breaking, or trampling of the wheat. Praise God!! Only the “Wheat” will be gathered into His “barn”, the Kingdom of God. The “Chaff” will be burned up with fire that cannot be put out, “Eternal Fire-Hades”

• There are times when our lives are “Sifted” or “Shaken” by God or Satan. Jesus prays us through this time. Faith is required to have victory over this time of sifting. Our mandate, after we have overcome this “Sifting” is to strengthen and encourage our brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ.

• The Wheat Harvest corresponds to the Jewish Feast of Weeks, the Feast of Harvest, or Pentecost. The Feasts are an appointed time with God, decreed by God to be observed perpetually (ongoing, forever) Lev 23:37-41 , in addition, many feasts directly correspond with a harvest season.

Jesus fulfilled four of the seven major Jewish Feasts. Don’t you think it is essential to study and understand these feasts? Jesus saw the importance of observing these feasts, because they were a foreshadowing of what is yet to happen. Heb 10:1 FOR SINCE the Law has merely a rude outline (foreshadowing) of the good things to come--instead of fully expressing those things--it can never by offering the same sacrifices continually year after year make perfect those who approach altars.

There are many excellent studies concerning the “End Times”. Could all the answers be right under our nose, in the study of the feasts? I believe the answer is YES, and we will discover this truth in future studies.

Genesis 1:6-8 The Second Day of Creation, Part 2

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

What was created on the Second Day?

* The “Firmament in the midst of the waters”, thus an expanse or a visible arch of the sky.

* The division of the waters using the Firmament

Historical Significance

* First Point: The “Firmament” is also called “Heaven. The definition of “Heaven” is the sky, or that which alludes to the visible arch in which the clouds move.

* Second Point: This “Firmament” divided the waters which were below the arch from the waters above the arch.

We will further investigate the Second Point of this day of creation.

Spiritual Principle

Water plays a pivotal part in God’s existence and power

Let’s look at Scripture:

Mat 3:16 And when Jesus was baptized, He went up at once out of the water; and behold, the heavens (also Firmament) were opened, and he John saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. (17) And behold, a voice from heaven said, This is My Son, My Beloved, in Whom I delight!

Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, unless a man is born of water and even the Spirit, he cannot ever enter the kingdom of God.

Eze 36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleanness; and from all your idols will I cleanse you. (26) A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. (27) And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them.

Joh 4:10 Jesus answered her, If you had only known and had recognized God’s gift and Who this is that is saying to you, Give Me a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.

2Pe 3:4 And say, Where is the promise of His coming? For since the forefathers fell asleep, all things have continued exactly as they did from the beginning of creation. (5) For they willfully overlook and forget this fact, that the heavens into existence long ago by the word of God, and the earth also which was formed out of water and by means of water, (6) Through which the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.

Gen 1:2 The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.

Rev 22:1 THEN HE showed me the river whose waters give life, sparkling like crystal, flowing out from the throne of God and of the Lamb

Prophetic Insight

* Water existed before light was spoken into existence. There is a connection between the Spirit of God and the face of the waters. The pure river of water of life proceeds from the throne of God and of the Lamb, Allelluha!!
* When Jesus came up from the water baptism, the heavens (Ouranos: the sky, air, same as firmament) were open, and the Spirit of God descended like a dove and lightning upon him.
* Water baptism opened the physical firmament where the Spirit of God reached down from Heaven to reveal Himself to and through Jesus Christ. This is why Jesus said “unless a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God”
* We live in a world with limited knowledge based on our experiences and senses. Faith is required to activate the knowledge beyond our experiences and senses. This proves the scripture, Heb. 11:6, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him”

Genesis 1:6-8: The Second Day of Creation, Part 1

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

What was created on the Second Day?

* The "Firmanent in the midst of the waters", thus an expanse or a visible arch of the sky.
* The division of the waters using the Firmament

Historical Significance

The "Firmanent" is also called "Heaven. The definition of "Heaven" is the sky, or that which alludes to the visible arch in which the clouds move. This "Firmanent" divided the waters which were below the arch from the waters above the arch.

Spiritual Significance

There is a connection between the created "firmament" and "heaven" with the "throne of God" and the "glory of God".

Let's look at scripture:

Gen 1:
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

Psa 19:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. THE HEAVENS declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork.

Psa 150:1 Praise ye Jehovah. Praise God in his sanctuary: Praise him in the firmament of his power.

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Eze 1:26-28 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne... This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of Jehovah. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

Eze 10:1 Then I looked, and behold, in the firmament that was over the head of the cherubim there appeared above them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.

Dan 12:3 And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Prophetic Insight

* The firmament is a symbol in the natural revealing the magnificence of God's glorious power. How else can one explain the separation of water above and below this firmament.
* This firmament could very well contain the evidence many unbelievers need to prove the Great Flood of Noah's time.

Genesis 1:1-5: The First Day of Creation

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was without shape and empty, and darkness was over the surface of the watery deep, but the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the water. God said, “Let there be light.
” And there was light! God saw that the light was good, so God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” There was evening, and there was morning, marking the first day.

What was created in the beginning?

* The heavens
* The earth, without shape and empty, water and darkness
* God spoke “light” into existence, and separated the light from the darkness. He called the light day and the darkness night

Historical Significance

The proof of the existence of a Creator, God, is creation, itself. The physical proof of this principle can be seen in the following examples: a building exists because of a builder and an book exists because of a writer.

Spiritual Principles

Light was spoken into existence. Is it because the word spoken had the ability to create light because light already existed within the Creator who spoke the word?

Let’s look at scripture:

Psalm 43:3, Reveal your light and your faithfulness! They will lead me, they will escort me back to your holy hill, and to the place where you live

Psalm 119:105, Your word is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path.

Daniel 2:20-22, Saying, Let the name of God be praised forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to him. He changes times and seasons, deposing some kings and establishing others. He gives wisdom to the wise; he imparts knowledge to those with understanding; he reveals deep and hidden things. He knows what is in the darkness, and light resides with him.

John 1:6-9, A man came, sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that everyone might believe through him. He himself was not the light, but he came to testify about the light. The true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

John 8:12, Then Jesus spoke out again, “I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life..

1 John 1:5, Now this is the gospel we have heard and announce to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all.

2 Cor 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Mat 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Eph 5:8 For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light the lives of those native-born to the Light.

Prophetic Insight

* In the beginning, light was spoken into existence by God, who is light.
* Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s light.
* We, those who believe in Jesus, are also called the light, through Jesus Christ.
